Rock Climbing
Rock ClimbingRather new to India, Rock Climbing is one of the best known adventure tourism option in India. As more and more tourists concieve the spectrum of bare rock faces ideal for rock climbing in India, this activity is on the list of most popular adventure sports in India. Not very different from mountaineering, Rock Climbing requires one to scale steep and bare rocky cliffs instead of snow capped slopes. The sport needs one to be strong physically as well as mentally – because this activity is truly a test of one's stamina and grit.

Paragliding
Paragliding is comparatively new to our country. The simplicity of control and design, lightweight construction (5- 5.5 kgs) and an unfailing safety record makes this sport incredibly popular.

White water Rafting
White water rafting in India is almost exclusively confined to the northern rivers which flow southwards from the Himalayas, gushing between densely forested mountains and through steep gorges. Rivers such as the Alaknanda, Bhagirathi, Indus, Zanskar and Teesta offer `raft-worthy’ rapids, and a trip down a river can be a great way to see the countryside. Whether the expedition’s just a few hours of getting soaked and experiencing the thrills of a high-action Hollywood flick- or it stretches over a few days in which you spend time camping and trekking as well- this is an experience not to be forgotten.

Hot Air Ballooning
Hot air ballooning is another adventurous sports in India. The best time to indulge in ballooning is after sunrise when the winds are their calmest. Winter months provide the most reliable conditions, but during summer months its better take of early in the morning. The view from the top, according to the experience of some who have travelled up and down, is nothing but exhilarating. India also has its own hot-air balloons and the Ballooning Club of India compose of international balloon festivals and demonstration flights annually. There are clubs in Guwahati, Dehradun, Bangalore and Jaipur.

Mountaineering
Mountaineering as a sport has a history as old as the history of the evolution of human race itself. Mountaineering started when the need was felt for people who could climb difficult heights and terrains to meet people across the border, to trade, or to conquer new territories. In the course of time, man developed new modes of transportation and communication and venturing out on these difficult routes were not needed. Nevertheless, what remained was his nature to take risks and getting pleasure in conquering something totally unknown and unexplored. This inner urge to take up challenges has led man to do things that are quite daring.

Garhwal is a prominent destination in Indian tourism and is a host of many trekking tours in India. The history of this region dates back to time immemorial. It is the land of popular myths and is considered sacred by the Hindus .The Garhwal and Kumaon Himalayas comprise of some of the highest mountain ranges in the world. Camel Safari
